CVRP

The CVRP Seminar, held in Maastricht, the Netherlands, from 13-15 December, was an exceptionally focused and well-received event, attended by some 60 control valve professionals from all sides of the industry. The Seminar, carefully structured by the Steering Committee, started with presentations on topical issues such as the new standard on hydrodynamic noise prediction, cavitation aspects (ISA RP-75-23), and IEC 8-3 evolutions for aerodynamic noise prediction, to name a few.

Ninety minute sessions were then allocated to various suppliers, so that they could go into detail on their flow behaviour and effects prediction methods. These presentations, which from time to time raised some highly specific and searching questions from the audience, formed the real cornerpiece of the seminar. A lot of information was shared, and control valve suppliers and users alike agreed that open dialogue along these lines could only bring benefits for all. The presentations were summarised dynamically by the Steering Committee, whose aim was to compile data into a comprehensive comparision.
